What does it mean to be a WholeHearted Actor?
ACTOR DRIVEN
We encourage actors to develop their personal process.
We lead through exploration & curiosity to uncover where the text lives in the breath and the body.
Actors are encouraged to discover their own interpretation.
We cultivate the actor’s instincts and impulses to support making brave choices.
We honor the actor's in-the-moment experience over prescriptive direction.
We are dedicated to creating tangible processes that free the actor to trust the work & be present & in the moment. We trust the actor to bring themselves to the work, and find what works best for them.
TRAUMA INFORMED
We acknowledge the prevalence of adverse experiences and traumas in people and seek to lessen the impact of that trauma. We enter the work assuming that the actor is more likely than not to have a history of trauma. We aim to create a supportive learning environment that promotes emotional well-being, and avoids re-traumatizing the actor. Actors have full autonomy over the content of their work. We foster a culture of safety and consent that honors each actor’s identities, lived experience, and needs. We hold space for checking in, stepping away, and de-roling from the work so that actors build a process that is safe and sustainable.
MINDFUL
We are intentional about how we define our worth as we navigate our careers. We trust in our own enough-ness. We make decisions about our careers from a place of abundance, rather than scarcity. We cultivate a gentle relationship to the industry, and trust our innate worth as storytellers. We redefine our relationship to success, and learn to let go of the outcome. We grant ourselves grace to be where we are on any given day, and let go of comparison and judgment.
We commit to live a fully engaged life, and prioritize our mental, emotional, and physical needs. We trust that what is meant for us will always find us.
We show up as we are, with an unshakable belief in our own worthiness.
COMMUNITY
We make a collective choice to support one another.
We understand the work we do is so much bigger than ourselves.
Our ability as storytellers stems from our interconnectedness -
and the knowledge that we are not alone. We trust that when we
show up in our fullness, we make it possible for others to do the same.
We chose authenticity over perfection. We are committed to leaving the industry better than how we found it. We hold each other accountable.
We embrace connection over competition and are intentional
about choosing community over comparison.
ABOUT CLARE

Hi, I'm Clare
I am a multi-hyphenate storyteller, and proud owner and founder of
The WholeHearted Actor. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Theatre and Music from Saint Martin's University and am a graduate of
The Pacific Conservatory of The Performing Arts. I've logged over 15 years in the industry performing in film, theatre, voiceover, and commercials. I am a SAG-AFTRA Eligible actor represented by Brevard Talent Group.
I've spent the last decade teaching courses covering: on-camera acting, script analysis, audition technique, Shakespeare, writing, musical theatre, and movement. My approach is rooted in Trauma-Informed practices that honor each actor's boundaries and agency.
My background in script analysis and process work informs my personal methodology. I integrate techniques from Stanisklavski, Uta Hagen, Grotowski, Anne Bogart, Laban, Meisner, Chekhov, and much more.
I believe that there is no one 'right way' to explore the acting process.
My goal as a coach is to help actors uncover their own unique interpretation.
I find that the most exciting choices emerge when we are free to explore, get on our feet, and play. I emphasize honoring the actor's instincts and discovering where the text lives in the breath and body. I want actors to find connection and full body listening through physical exploration.
I know every actor's path is different, so as a coach I work to ensure an actor's materials authentically reflect who they are and showcase their strengths as performers. I believe that actors are first and foremost, storytellers - who each have a story that only they can tell.
And I am forever grateful to be a part of that journey.
The WholeHearted Actor is listed as an approved vendor on the Child Actor 101 Directory.
